Eggo® Breakfast Sandwich Recipe and Before School Activity

Hampton started “school” yesterday – well, technically, Mother’s Morning Out – and he loved it! While we are still trying to get used to a new morning routine, one thing is for sure – I have to make him a good and filling breakfast. My kids wake up so hungry and immediately ask for food every morning. Making them a satisfying breakfast is essential to how we will start our day. No one likes a grumpy toddler, so we try to avoid that. My latest favorite thing to fix them for breakfast is an Eggo® Breakfast Sandwich!

For my kiddos, I normally add egg, bacon and cheese, but really, the sky is the limit! I use Eggo® waffles (which happen to be Hampton’s favorite) as the bread and he loves it! Once he can use a fork a little better, I may even add some syrup! Yum!

Breakfast Sandwich RecipeAnother part of our breakfast routine is to have some sort of activity at the table while I am cooking/fixing their food. This keeps them distracted and helps fuel their minds and get their creative wheels turning while I try to get their food ready and lunch packed with as few interruptions as possible. Eggo® and Crayola have teamed up with a pretty amazing offer at Target! If you purchase any 3 participating Eggo® products, you will receive $5 off Crayola products! This promotion ends on September 30th. I am a sucker for a good deal and this was too awesome to pass up. Hampton has been needing some new Color Wonders markers and a new coloring book, so I jumped on this offer and he has loved coloring the past few mornings before school!

I was super excited about this offer and took full advantage of it because it allowed me to stock up on Eggo® waffles which are one of my kid’s favorite breakfast items! I love them because they are so easy and quick to make. If you are in a hurry, just pop a couple of waffles in the toaster oven and go! When I don’t have time to make a full sandwich, that is my go-to! They also make a great after school snack. My kids have had fun eating their Eggo® Breakfast Sandwich and coloring every morning and it makes me smile knowing that both their mind and body are getting fueled every morning for the busy day ahead.

You can look for this offer in Target’s circular ad the first week of September and be sure to download the free activity booklet here! These products and promotions are available in all stores!

What is your favorite way to fuel your kid’s mind and body for Back-to-School?

Smart way to make a healthier, more wholesome breakfast with waffles! I usually just toss butter and syrup on mine. But with all the protein, it would keep my boys full longer.

Genius! I have thought to use waffles any other way except the standard. I’ll have to try this out for my kids:)

That’s a great breakfast idea! My daughter’s usually pretty basic; she likes muffins, oat bakes, pancakes, waffles, cereal… you know, anything carb-y!
